Agreement to Terms

By downloading, accessing, or using Hut (the "Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you disagree with any part of these Terms, you may not access or use the Service.

These Terms apply to all visitors, users, and others who access or use the Service. By using the Service, you also agree to our Privacy Policy.

Description of Service

Hut is a recipe management platform that allows you to save, organize, and plan meals. The Service includes mobile applications for iOS and Android, and may include a web interface. Features include recipe import via AI, meal planning, grocery list generation, and cross-device synchronization.

Age Requirements

You must be at least 13 years old to use this Service. By using the Service, you represent and warrant that you are at least 13 years of age. If you are under 18, you represent that you have your parent's or guardian's permission to use the Service.

User Accounts

When you create an account, you agree to:

Provide accurate and complete information
Maintain the security and confidentiality of your password
Accept responsibility for all activities under your account
Notify us immediately of any unauthorized access or security breach
Use only one account per person

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms or that appear to be fraudulent.

Subscriptions and In-App Purchases

Free and Premium Plans

The Service offers both free and premium subscription tiers. Premium features require a paid subscription ("Premium"). The specific features included in each tier are described in the app and may change over time.

Billing

Subscriptions are billed in advance on a monthly or annual basis through the Apple App Store or Google Play Store. Your subscription will automatically renew unless canceled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period.

Cancellation

You may cancel your subscription at any time through your Apple App Store or Google Play Store account settings. Upon cancellation, you will retain access to Premium features until the end of your current billing period.

Refunds

Refunds for in-app purchases are handled by Apple or Google according to their respective refund policies. To request a refund, please contact Apple App Store or Google Play Store support directly.

Price Changes

We reserve the right to change subscription prices with at least 30 days notice. Price changes will not affect your current billing period. You will be notified of any price changes before they take effect.

User Content

You retain ownership of recipes and content you create or upload ("User Content"). By using the Service, you grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to store, display, and sync your User Content solely as necessary to provide the Service.

Content Guidelines

You agree not to upload content that:

Infringes on intellectual property rights of others
Contains malicious code, viruses, or harmful software
Is unlawful, defamatory, obscene, or offensive
Violates any applicable laws or regulations
Impersonates any person or entity
Contains personal information of others without consent

Recipe Import

The recipe import feature uses AI to extract recipe information from URLs and images. You are responsible for ensuring you have the right to save and use imported recipes for personal use. We do not claim ownership of imported recipe content. The accuracy of AI-extracted data is not guaranteed, and you should review imported recipes for accuracy.

Intellectual Property

The Service and its original content (excluding User Content), features, and functionality are owned by Hut and are protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws. Our trademarks and trade dress may not be used without our prior written permission.

Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

Use the Service for any illegal purpose
Attempt to gain unauthorized access to the Service or its systems
Interfere with or disrupt the Service
Use automated means to access the Service (bots, scrapers, etc.)
Reverse engineer or attempt to extract source code
Resell or redistribute the Service without permission
Use the Service to send spam or unsolicited communications

Termination

We may terminate or suspend your account and access to the Service immediately, without prior notice, for any reason including violation of these Terms. Upon termination:

Your right to use the Service will cease immediately
You may export your data before account deletion
We may delete your data in accordance with our Privacy Policy

Disclaimer of Warranties

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED. WE DO NOT GUARANTEE THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, SECURE, OR ERROR-FREE.

Recipe nutritional information and cooking instructions are provided for informational purposes only. Always use your judgment when cooking, especially regarding food allergies, dietary restrictions, and food safety.

Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, HUT AND ITS AFFILIATES SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS OR REVENUES ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE.

IN NO EVENT SHALL OUR TOTAL LIABILITY EXCEED THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US, IF ANY, IN THE TWELVE (12) MONTHS PRIOR TO THE CLAIM.

Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Hut and its affiliates from any claims, damages, or expenses arising from your use of the Service or violation of these Terms.

App Store Terms

If you downloaded the app from the Apple App Store or Google Play Store, you also agree to comply with their respective terms of service. In the event of any conflict between these Terms and the app store terms, the app store terms shall prevail.

Changes to Terms

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. We will notify you of significant changes by email or through the Service. Your continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the new Terms.

Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the jurisdiction in which Hut operates, without regard to conflict of law provisions.

Dispute Resolution

Any disputes arising from these Terms or your use of the Service shall first be attempted to be resolved through informal negotiation. If a resolution cannot be reached, disputes shall be resolved through binding arbitration in accordance with applicable arbitration rules, except where prohibited by law.

Severability

If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue in full force and effect.

Entire Agreement

These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and Hut regarding the Service and supersede any prior agreements.
